A dramatic drive through a double avenue of coast redwoods planted in 1859. The trees now tower over 40 metres above the road and create one of the most striking woodland experiences in southern England. Part of the New Forest National Park.

One of the greatest tree collections in the world, with outstanding giant sequoias and coast redwoods among its 2,500 tree species. The sequoias here include some of the finest specimens in England, planted in the Victorian era when the arboretum was established by Robert Holford.

Harcourt Arboretum

The University of Oxford's arboretum south of the city, with fine giant sequoias and a coast redwood grove planted in the 20th century. Harcourt offers a quieter alternative to the better-known arboreta and has a well-established collection of champion-sized trees.
