The Leighton Estate near Welshpool contains what is believed to be the tallest giant sequoia in Wales and one of the tallest in Britain. Planted in the 1860s as part of an ambitious Victorian planting programme, the grove includes multiple champion-sized trees in a dramatic hillside setting.
